Recommended Podcasts? It took me a while to get “aboard” the podcast train. If I’m going to be honest, I often heard people speak of their podcasts but I had no idea how to access them. Then, one day, as I scanned all the apps on my smartphone I came upon an app entitled “Podcasts!” Well, who knew it was THAT easy?!

In less than a week I have discovered some really great religious and spiritual podcasts, so I thought I’d share them here. Most episodes are short but are packed with information and great inspiration. I’m sure I’ll be adding to this list often, but for now I’ll share my latest favorites:

The Bible in a Year with Fr. Mike Schmitz – follow the journey of salvation history through the Bible. I’m touched and inspired by Fr. Schmidt’s daily prayers.

The Catechism in a Year with Fr. Mike Schmitz – an awesome way to get to know Catholic Church teaching. It provides easy to follow and understand explanations and insight into why the Church does what it does.

The Jeff Cavins ShowJeff shares his personal tips on how to live as a modern-day disciple of Christ. He shares many relatable stories I think you’ll enjoy!

Ask Father Josh – Fr. Josh addresses questions dealing with morality, spirituality, relationships, evangelization, catechesis, Scripture and so much more!

The Word – shares reflections on Scripture.

Let Love – A Podcast with the Sisters of Life (by far my favorite: the sisters are funny, authentic, humble, sweet and inspiring)

Turning to the Mystics – Center for Action and Contemplation

Discerning Hearts – Catholic Podcasts dedicated to those on the spiritual journey

Contemplative Revolution – World Community for Christian Meditation Podcast

Homilies with Richard Rohr

The Road to Emmaus with Scott Hahn – podcast description states: “presents deeply biblical roots of Catholic teaching and practice. Join him to learn how Sacred Scripture forms and informs our notions of morality and spirituality, liturgy and the sacraments, and so much more.”

Fr. Mike Schmitz Catholic Podcast – great content but be prepared, this guy talks fast!
