The Crossroads Initiative – started by two musicians to share the Gospel with others.  One thing led to another and they went from being musical guests on a radio broadcast to focusing more on teaching and preaching through regular appearances on Eternal Word Television Network.

United States Conference of Catholic Bishops – news, catholic beliefs and teachings, prayer and worship and so much more!

Word on Fire/Proclaiming Christ in the culture – Bishop Barron homilies, articles, videos, blog, DVDs, study programs and kits.  Bishop Barron posts many videos applying scripture to culture and sharing thoughts on popular movies and books as they apply to our faith. Sign up for daily reflections during Advent and Lent.

Pray as you go – also available as a mobile app.  This website is an awesome resource for meditation and contemplation with the scriptures.  It also provides seasonal retreats -like Journeying with the Magi for Advent and a track for the daily examen.

Center for Action and Contemplation – created by Franciscan priest and renowned author, Fr. Richard Rohr, sign up for meditations, online courses, webcasts, listen to homilies or visit the bookstore.

Bible study – The Great Adventure Bible study – “designed in a way that anyone can make sense of the Bible and experience the life changing power of God’s word.”

Our Catholic Prayers – traditional catholic prayers to inspire daily, for troubled times, for various needs, you can even make prayer requests.

Divine Office – also available as a mobile app.  This is the Liturgy of the Hours online.  The Psalmist says:  Seven times a day I praise you! – The liturgy of the hours” is the official set of prayers marking the hours of each day and sanctifying the day with prayer.” It was originally prayed by clergy only but has been made available to the laity.  The audio mobile app is normally $20 but is now on sale for Christmas.  I really enjoy the audio because the prayers are read to you and there are beautiful hymns sung by various choirs which are not available in other apps like the Laudate.

Laudate – this is a free comprehensive mobile app.  It includes daily mass readings, saint of the day, liturgy of the hours (no audio), order of the mass, calendar, rosary, chaplet of divine mercy, stations of the cross, prayers, guide to confession, catechism, EWTN, Bible, Vatican documents and more.

Catholic Say – catholic  news service – news from all over the world and a question and answer board

Catholic Go – catholic devotions; prayers, novenas, litanies.

uCatholic – news, apologetics, mass readings, saints bios, blog, advent reflections and more.

The Divine Mercy – run by Marians of the Immaculate Conception from the Divine Mercy Shrine in Stockbridge, Mass., this website contains articles, videos, information on the Shrine, the chaplet of Divine Mercy, devotion to Mary, evangelization, books  and much, much more.

National Catholic Register – this is a great Catholic news source.  Interesting articles about Eucharistic miracles of the past and others being investigated at present.  If you have any doubt about the True Presence of the Eucharist read these articles.

Redeemed Online – Evangelizing the Online World –  using social media to share Jesus.  Daily videos posted on Facebook and YouTube.  The videos are just 2-3 minutes long.  The site also includes a blog.

The Word Among Us – daily meditations, magazine content and resources for marriage and family, personal spirituality, prayer, saints and Christian heroes, among other things.

Monasteries of the Heart – a website for the spiritual seeker.  It enables “ordinary people to implement Benedictine values into their daily lives. The website is open to all.  It includes a weekly blog, daily prayer and spiritual practices are available, as well as, recommended reading.  The site was created by Joan Chittister, a Benedictine Sister of Erie, PA  and a well-known author and spiritual teacher.

Calling All Converts – not just for converts – a wealth of information including answers to questions, inspiration, spiritual direction and more.

Catholic Answers – a catholic apologetics site – it includes of blog, library, videos, forums, podcasts and items for sale.

Catholic Biblical Apologetics – answers to what the Church teaches and why, with references.

3 Minute Retreat – daily bible verse, reflection and prayer – beautiful landscape pictures and soothing music played.  Free mobile app available as well.

Catholic spiritual direction – daily meditations and spiritual direction, questions and answers about spiritual direction, book reviews, etc.

Regnum Christi Spiritual Center –  blog and personal retreat meditations  Topics include: the hidden treasures of Christmas; St  Michael and the Angels; Sacrament of Confession; Easter; Lent; baptism and more.

Dynamic Catholic -” meeting people where they are…leading them to where God calls them”  Subscribe for Lenten reflections.

Mark Mallett – inspiring blog – offers Lenten reflections you can subscribe to.

Rex Christi – part of the regnum Christi spirituality center, this site provides daily meditations based on bible verses.  It includes introductory prayer, petition, explains the verse and ends with a prayer and suggested “resolution” – something to ponder throughout the day.

The Catholic Company Morning Offering –  subscribe to receive an email each morning with daily meditations, check out the daily mass readings and liturgy of the hours all in one place..

World Community for Christian Meditation – a global contemplative community of support with many resources.

Benedictine Sisters at Erie – join the sisters on their site which provides many opportunities for prayer and community discussion.  You can even book a retreat with the option of rooms in the main house or a hermitage.

The Rescue Project  – amazing and engaging way to proclaim the Gospel.  You HAVE to check out the website and watch the series.  You will not regret it!

Fr. Timothy Gallagher – reading his book Discernment of Spirits changed everything!  Check out his website for more information and books I’m sure will change your life.

Fr. David Rider – the real deal! Check out his website to listen to his homilies where he does a great job of preaching and teaching.  He also offers reading recommendations.  He once shared with me that Plan of Life by Roger J. Landry (which I’ve also recommended on this site) is a  “game changer!” I can attest to the truth of that statement.

Something for everyone

Abide prayer app for your mobile phone – includes prayers for different topics by different authors, speakers, pastors, etc.   Short prayers to listen to throughout the day – no more than 2 minutes long.  You can even get notifications on your phone to remind you to pray.  This app also has the meditations from pray as you go.
